Crocuses are very common on selected mountain pastures in Tatra National Park. They are blooming just after winter and sometimes create something like flower carpet, especially on Chochołowska pasture and Kalatówki pasture.

What do you think about idea of using Cokin P830 Diffuser?

Nikon D200 with Nikkor 60 Macro @ f9 shutter 1/80 and Cokin P830 Diffuser.

Igor,

Welcome to the gallery. I don't recall commenting on one of your images before. I like the light in this and the filter. The leaf in the mid right of the bg bothers me just a little bit because it adds a different shape and color to the bg. The crocuses are beautiful. I look forward to seeing more of your images.

I like the softness of the flowers using the filter. I do have some concern about the leaf on the right side and the "hot spot" in the upper left hand corner. My eye goes to the light area. Burning it down would had a lot to this image. Over all a very nice pleasing image.

Igor:
Nice to see these crocuses in their environment. These are lovely flowers and I wish I have the chance to see a whole carpet of them. I am not familiar with the filter but the resultant soft image is quite appealing. Look forward to seeing more of your post.

Nice environmental shot, Igor. There's almost a feel of the flowers blowing in the wind with the dof you've chosen. I do agree with Pat about the R side leaf - could that be cropped out to advantage perhaps ? Hope to see more of your work soon.

Igor: Welcome to NPN and to the finest Flora gallery on the planet. Terrific first post here. We don't get crocus in Texas so I envy you the opportunity although I don't envy your winters. I like your filter application. For me the only suggestion that I would offer is to crop to 5:4 ratio and make the ULC and the leaf on the right side disappear. Great to have you aboard and looking forward to more. >=))>

Well, I did not notice any of the distracting elements you listed above... But you are right, now they are distracted for me! Thanks Bill for great advice, I will try to crop and see the effect.
