NOTE: Less square, more traditional comp below.

In November, I reported a doe being shot during archery season and was left to die about 30 feet off a local road. (The "long story" in EPJ with a different photo.)

Anyway, the state game commission never removed it, and part of the carcass remains in the field, as this adult bald eagle is now keeping close eye on it and feeding off of it. I had just given the D60 to my friend the day before, so I shot this with only a Sony H2 at 1/500th, not sure of all the parameters. Anyway, it was pretty upsetting back in November to see the deer left to die like that... and it was pretty rewarding getting to see this rare (in our area), majestic creature completing the natural cycle.

The Sony work out well. As time goes by, the more I enjoy wildlife in the landscape images. I like the bands of color from bottom to top. A rectangular crop may work better here, but don't know what was cropped out.

Nice shot

Bill,
you got a nice record given the specs you had. Very nice colors. :wavey:

Hi Bill :wavey: I prefer the horizontal crop. It's a pitty you did not have more serious glass  The composition and color tones are splendid
