Another of the images I captured at Ft. De Soto Park a few weeks back. This taken in early light as the fog was lifting.

A nice catch of a beautiful egret.
Looks as if the focus was on the body, which is sharp, and the 5.6 didn't allow for a tack-sharp head and beak or water. Some selective sharpening of these areas would likely help.
Really nice colours and action here!

Cool shot, I like the overall feel. Neat splash, and I don't think it's critical for that to be razor sharp. The bird, including head and beak, looking pretty good to me.

Nice action Chuck. I like everything about this shots composition. Do wish the splash was sharper, given it is an important element of the image as it is part of the action captured.

Agree with the other comments and I'll add that it may need just a touch of ccw rotation. STill a good image with nice comp and nice "foggy" lighting. Sharon

Chuck, I really like the action with the splash and that you got a good look at the eye even at this angle. Your comp works well IMO. I do think it would have been a bit of an improvement if the splash had been sharper though.

Hi Charles The early light is not great for stopping splashes But great for color and mood. The expression of the eye is marvelous.

I love this Chuck, especially the splashing water. Great natural colors, soft light & comp.

Good details and I really like the water action here Charles. The soft light and color looks beautiful.
I would like to see a slightly better POV here, but still a great shot as posted
