The third of my nine recent drum scans.
A fall color shot from this last September near Bear Lake, Utah. I had been having a really disappointing couple days of photography the weekend I shot this. The wind had been blowing very hard (like 30-40mph most of the time) - and since all the shots available at the time had leaves in them I almost just gave up. On the way back home (about a 2 hour drive) I decided to give it one more go on this short dirt road in Logan Canyon. My family was with me (wife, 2 young kids) so I didn't want to spend too much time. A miracle happened! (a photographic miracle that is) - about 30 minutes before the sun went down there was a total calm. Absolutely no wind at all - not even enough to sway aspen leaves at the tops of the trees, and I don't know if I've ever seen that happen - with or without a camera. Anyway - I got this shot and a couple others (posting those soon) before the light had completely faded.
Comments, suggestions, critiques greatly appreciated.

I like the contrast of the shadowed background hills and the backlit trees. The short to tall line of yellow is fun.
