Here's another image from my brief yet productive desert travels last August. Sandstone never gets old to me...
1/5 sec, f/16, ISO 100
Nikon D3, 19mm
Comments and critiques appreciated as always!
Thanks for looking.

That's some gorgeous light, Alex.
Liked the way the striations run across diagonally towards ULC and the clouds 'continue' the same with similar patterns in them.

I really like the colors and the light. These rocks make a great subject. Maybe more sky and bringing up the shadows a little bit will make an improvement. Still, works for me this way too. Great work!

Alex,
Fantabulous light and great job in not letting the highlights ruin things for you. I like the slightly dark capture/presentation here. While I like this very much as captured, did you happen to get any images stepping front of this bush? I see a real nice pano in the making.

Wonderfully composed, Alex! I like the repetitive lines and
the lighting is great. You added just the right amount of
a nice ky.

Wonderful glow in the background rocks and the dark skies really shows it off. My eye sort of skips past the foreground and goes for the good stuff.

Gorgeous Alex. Really like how you have used the lit areas of rock and the foliage in your composition, and how the shadowed areas actually work as elements of the image, creating diagonals throughout. Excellent work.

Beautiful comp! Im a bit undecided about the exposure--i think the overall brightness could be raised a bit since evben the sky looks pretty dark here. Nice work!
