An extremely noble looking lion - the natural framing is superb.

I love the way the head of His Majesty has been 'framed' by the tree, and the windswept mane, Harshad. However, the right of the frame where his partial body is seen, is a little bit distracting, in my opinion, and disturbs the composition somewhat. Just my opinion, though. :toast:

It appears to be terrific setting, but I doubt if this is the best crop/composition !
I just love the graceful expressions of lion and the flying mane, the natural frame is a big plus.

I love that mane Harshad! The natural framing works for me, but I do echo comments made about the overall comp not being the best possible. Looking at the ratio this is presented in, this is not FF and without knowing how it is cropped I would suggest to try different crops. If you don't have more room on the right in the original, I would crop more off the right. That the paw is cut in half at the bottom is a also unfortunate IMO. Am looking forward to your 15 day old cubs!

Hi Harshad,

I agree with previous comments about the great natural frame and the windswept mane - very appealing. If you have the pixels to support it, I'd crop from the right and have that branch pretty much touching the right side of the frame. On my monitor both versions look just very slightly over-sharpened (most noticeable on the surface of the tree on the right, but also the fur on the lion looks pushed a little too far with sharpening to me).

Cheers...thanks for sharing this...

Really nice. Techs look good, but with careful examination I agree with Brad about a slight reduction in sharpening. Just a matter of taste, but if you have the space in the original, I would like to see more on the bottom and a crop from the right to make this a vertical. Still, very pleasing.

Hi Harshad

Like the 'quiff' hairstyle and regal pose. Viewing it on laptop so can't comment on colour as it varies dependent on how you view it, as initially it looked a tad yellow, but as I say, will take a better look next week when back.

Perhaps my original observation wasn't too far off - 'Just a thought, but a portrait crop tighter in, using the sweeping branch on the rhs really makes a very strong comp & image, just a thought.'

Hi Harshad, the natural framing is perfect, as well as the proud pose looks like He's thinking "I'm the king something to say?". From compositional, not knowing the original, point of view I'd try a squared one cutting the frame where the branch splits in two. But this is just an ides, you'll surely able to find what's the best.

Even though the small tree to the left of the lion would usually be called a distraction ,in this case it actually works to an advantage by making a perfect frame for the lion and adds to the feeling of where he is resting but very aware of his surroundings.Great B/G and colour

Superb portrait, very well executed- I' d leave the composition as is, the small part of body on the right side suggests a relaxed pose, that enhances the regality of the subject- I hope I'll be there one day or another- Bravo, Fabio
