Just a common Moorhen, but in some unusual water that I liked a lot.

This is good ! Common birds they may be but one of the hardest to photograph in my opinion. I binned 80 shots of one from a days session yesterday !
Well done.

Stricking water Sandy. It's a kaleidescope of colors. Perfect head turn on the moorhen. You handled the hot zones perfectly. Nicely done Sandy!

Sandy, I think you need about a 3 degree CW rotation.

Very nice! The water has some great color and patterns, but I also really like the reflection of the Moorhen. That red bill really jumps out at ya. :toast:

Nice, Sandy. I like the pose and the surrounding water. Head seems a touch soft. :toast:

Sandy, the water colors are beautiful and add a lot to the image. You handled the exposure nicely and I know how hard that can be with this species. Love the reflection and the light in the eye. I agree with Charle about the head being a bit soft, I'd try some selective sharpening there?

Very nicely done Sandy. Common maybe but not everyone has seen one ... that would be me. The water surface is fun with the varied colors and the moorhen looks good, maybe a tad soft.
