I Dream...Again
by beth summer
On my first "I Dream" several people weren't sure about the cloud on the right side, perhaps a bit too dominant. So I reworked the image and want your thoughts on this one. Is this better with the cloud being softer and less dominant? Does the image still portray "my dream" mood?
Larger version for better view.
Thanks for the input, as always.

9 commentsI would say that this is a stronger comp than the 1st. and you have realized your dream! The focus (or rather attention) is on the flower and the blue sky and clouds are there to support it. I find OOF composition very challenging to make as you have to keep the viewer interested without having a specific sharply focussed spot for them to rest their gaze. Well done
This one is much stronger as far as I'm concerned. I'd say it portrays the sense and feel of a dream very well. I like it a lot. It reminds me of the work of the Surrealist Rene Magritte. Actually all of these have but I think this one is the strongest. It might interest you to look at some of his work, if you're not already familiar with it. First time I've thought of the artist in probably forty years. A liberal arts education is a strange thing. You never know when it's going to catch up with you. (smile)
