WC469 God's Marbles

I started with a ground eye view of dewdrops. There was a blurred, brown blade of grass marring the photo. I tried cloning it out, but it just got messier. So, I decided to make this a work of art. The "marbles" were the focal point anyway...so this rendition highlights them even more.

It's strange that the drops on the left are clear, and the ones on the right are opaque and perfectly circular. This was a cool, foggy morning, but not cold ...so they are not frozen. Any ideas why they look so different? I did not retouch the drops at all.

I'm not clear on what you did to this. It kind of looks like a composite. Anyway, with dew drops/reflections/lens effects, it isn't always logical and what you see is what you get. Certainly good clean fun. This certainly qualifies as unusual.

It does look like the merging of 2 very different photos, but it is not.

The scene you see is the result of my exasperation of blacking out all the stems and the blades of grass! then all I did was blur the leaves a bit. Didn't touch the drops. It is strange that 2 very different kinds of droplets can form is such close proximity. You are right...the camera saw something I did not see!

You ended up with an interesting image and a good title. It kept my attention for quite a while.

I like this, Lucy--its unique and very creative. Nice perspective. The umarred shot might have been even cooler--guess we'll never know... I thgink the drops are pretty much the same--the ones on the left are just bigger so theyre flattening out from their weight, you can see the smaller thay get the rounder they are. I think its probably just the way the light is hitting that makes the ones on the right look murkier, or could be whatever they formed on. :wavey:
