Here's an image fram last spring on Tampa Bay. This was my first time to see and photograph Reddish Egrets and I fell in love with them.

Canon 7D, 600 MM. 1/1000 @ f 7.1, ISO 400
Manual Exp., Pattern Metering, tripod standing in waist deep water
65% of FF

Comments and critiques greatly appreciated - I'm still learning.

I can certianly see why you fell in love with them Randy. What a beautiful bird! BTW, you nailed the focus and exposure to my eye and I love the pose with the wings almost touching the water. Nice shot.

I too love the Redish Egrets. This is the nicest flight shot I have seen. Sharp, great pose and the BG is great. Nice job.

Randy,

Great flight pose and wing position, very appealing habitat and water, love how the wing is almost touching the water. Nice sharpness and detail. I would back off on the saturation though, the bill and lores don't look quite naturally colored.

Thanks for the comments, Mia, I selectively backed off on the saturation on the bill, lores and some on the back legs - hope this feels better.

Nice image. I can just feel the air blowing through his hair as he flies. Agree that the bill was a bit intense. I have a little trouble seeing on the smaller image, but I'm sure its right now. Well done.

Neat action shot, Randy. I like the colors of the bird very well exposed and with good detail. Very nice pose with the wings almost touching the water too.

well balanced colors..I love the blue on both front and back. His red "hair" seems to be blown back by the wind. very nice.

Good job on getting the pose, with the wing reflection. I like the bright blue legs and pink beak. I don't know these birds, so I can't comment on the saturation. Overall a very nice shot.

Nice Randy. Sharp flight shot. Mia's comment was a good one and the repost looks better. These are great birds. I may have to go to the west coast to find this species.

What a striking species. Haven't been able to shoot one here in S Florida, but sure would like to.
The repost works for me. Great techs, btw.

An excellent photo. I like the sharpness in the bird's wings and head. Great capture. The background is just out of focus enough. Might consider darkening the branches on the right side.
