Hawfinch
This is the second shot I got. The bird is 5 feet in front of the camera. This shows the advantage of not having a low view point. As the angle of the bird is on a similar plane to the camera it is easier to get more in focus in the bad light conditions at the time, and with average equipment. With a low angle, the wing frills would have been no where near in focus. I,ve stopped using the board in the hide as a tripod head support as I reckon it amplifies the sound. I now use a bean bag with a jumper wrapped around the camera.

Neat image. 70% of full frame.

Neat looking bird John and I love the colors in both the Hawfinch and water. I see your point about the angle although you paid the price with the foot - a good tradeoff though IMO. I do like this image - in fact I like it a lot.

A beautiful bird. I love the "pearl" water background.

This is a startlingly sharp image. Great colors. I like the gold reflection in the water. It compliments the bird very well. Nice job-I reckon.

This is just a beautiful bird! I love his colours, and the way you caught colours reflected in the water that match makes this an awesome picture!
