Under the Moonlight

Here is another shot from my recent trip to the Pinnacle Desert in Western Australia.

In this full moon night, these Pinnacles in the desert were still quite visible 40 minutes after sunset. I decided to stay a bit longer to capture some stars in the sky. After 8pm, my wife and I were the last persons in the desert. The temperature dropped quickly and it became very windy as well. I managed to take several shots showing both the moon and stars in the clear sky.

Yan, this is stunning. The sharp detail makes the pinnacles pop.

Yan if I didn't see the moon in this picture then I would have thought this was taken on the moon. The bottom right hand corner seems a touch empty though but a very nice night shot. Cheers

Amazing, Yan. The rock forms are fascinating and make for an alien looking foreground. The light on the foreground is remarkable. A wonderful image.

Dear Folks,

Thanks for your comments. Personally I like this image a lot, and it took me a considerable effort to make this shot during that silent night. But I was not sure other people's opinions. Your comments are great encouragement.
