Took this in my garden a couple of days ago, the green behind the bird is a large shrub. I debated whether or not to clone out the twigs on the rhs, then thought better of it. Not brilliant light as I am facing west.

Exposure Time = 1/500"
F Number = F7.1
Aperture priority
ISO = 400
Exposure Bias Value = -0.33EV
Metering Mode = Pattern

With the bird in that position, and the twigs going more or less up, I think I would have preferred a portrait format shot here. Not always easy to get the camera turned around in a brief opportunity I admit. Still far better than any redpoll shot I have.

David

PS I also prefer the version with the twigs cloned out

Hi Kim.
Nice shot Kim if i was going to be nitty, nitty i think the twig coming out of the head does divide that lovely green bg from the light patch in the left hand corner.
Still a shot i would be pleased to have.
:toast: Keith.

Hi Kim,

a lovely shot of a bird I have not yet seen this year :toast:

I prefer the second edit and agree with Keith about the twig behind the head but no big deal

Difficult lighting on this one and maybe a drop in contrast (or shadows/highlights adjust )might help a bit.
The twig does draw the eye a bit. Interesting shot though missus.
Cheers

Nice shot of this redpoll, well sharp but the twig is a bit distracting and also the bright patch on the left, still pretty good to me.
