Winter embrace - Theme

I took this photo in the Ligurian Apennines (about 3000 feet), after a cold and windy night. This atmospheric phenomenon is very nice to be photographed since all the vegetation is surrounded by ice but there isn't snow all around. So the result is brown color of the ground and white ice in the trees.
I take the opportunity of this theme to show a particular of a branch wrapped in ice shaped by the wind.

40D 100 macro IS
f9,0 1/6000
ISO 250

Thanks for viewing.
C&C are very welcome.

Thanks Charlie, I wanted to post the larger version but by mistake I didn't do. :wavey:

This is nice Monica. Very well exposed. I like the contrast of the ice with the brown BG.

Great find! I like the repeating lines and shapes. I might be inclined to crop some from the top and bottom giving this more of a pano look...I think it would add emphasis to the patterns created by the branch and ice. :toast:

Very nice, Monica. I like the repeating shape of the ice and the light.
Did you try compositions other than horizontal?

I had no idea what this was, from the thumbnail.
Love it! Unique, for sure!
Wonderful and unusual ice forms, perfect BG and nice little tree buds.
Moving it down in the frame a bit so it is not so centered might make this great image even better.

I like this very much as posted Monica. Looks like perfect whites on my monitor and the subject/ground separation works really well here for my tastes. I think you could also present this in a vertical format if you were so inclined.

Monica:
Love the ice structures. The horizontal framing works really well too. Like the mottled bg.

Great shot Monica - I love the repeating nature of the image, and the blurred BG. Wonderfully done.

I think the outstanding aspect of this shot is how the ice really looks like ice. It has a translucency to it. The brown bg is unusual and provides a beautiful contrast too. :toast:

Well spotted, Monica ! A lovely image in my view - the snow textures have come out superbly, and I like the dof and bg very much.

Monica: A fine find and a solid capture. I might have been inclined to rotate my lens a touch so as to present this with a slight diagonal orientation but this does work for me very nicely. >=))>

Love the "Sculptered" look and intricate design I see Monica.
The simple things are often over looked..until one looks closer, and takes the time to really "see" the hidden beauty there..
Great eye for the shot, well done! :toast:
