The remnants of the whaling era. Deception Island on the Antarctic peninsula was once part of the booming whaling era. The tanks and scraps of metal that you see here once held the oil "harvested" from the whales that passed through these waters.

Do like the inclusion of the shack in the bg - gives this image that "ghost town" feel. Well done.

I really like that the image speaks in the past tense. I also like the soft highlights in this.

Lovely Adam! I really like the comp.

While it doesn't shout "whaling", it's so compelling viewers will want to know more. I think the second "hit" like that could add impact.

Congratulations Adam on your WP, missed this the first time. Almost sculptural in it's decaying state. It is saddening just how much mankind has spread it's garbage all over the planet and even our solar system is no stranger to our junk!
