Roadrunner Tail

I'm posting this here because I did a lot of work to the background, trying to bring separation between the tail and the wood. The roadrunner was sitting atop this old fence, basking in the sun. C&C always welcome and appreciated.

Rob,

It looks as though you are masking a lot of nice textures with the blur. Maybe you would be better served emphasizing the wood texture and bringing down its saturation to create separation in a different way.

The comp works well. I do like Craig's suggestion.

The tail came out well, but I agree that the wood might look better less saturated.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. The blurring of the wood was a late addition, after I couldn't get the separation I was thinking of. I'll definitely give it another try.
