WC471: Water Damage

This little Bananaquit (Coereba flaveola) was certainly not looking its best when I photographed it in Grand Cayman in December 2010.. [I earlier posted a head-on shot of it in the Avian Gallery. ] Looks to me like the significant damage to its looks is only temporary though.

All comments very welcome.

Steve,
definitely not a stylish look for this little Bananaquit.
I really like the diagonal line of the comp, the pose and the bird too. :toast: :wavey:

I'd say you caught this bird coming out of it's bath. I really like the sharpness of both the bird and the entire branch

I must admit that I like the head on a little more but would be elated to have taken either. I like them a little dark so this is great for me. Good one indeed.

Cosmetically impaired hey, you just made it in
Cool image Steve, this little bird sure knows how to get WET!!
Maybe it needs to stay on the spin cycle a bit longer?
Well done :toast:

I think it is a great image. Not every creature we see in the wild looks like they have been set on the perfect perch, with the perfect background and groomed for the photo.

Very bedraggled! But at least not injured...too many sad images in this week's Challenge.
Like the perch and bird's pose. A little soft, though..
