Bison landscape pano

Cant let Rene have all the fun! Here's a pano from Yellowstone which I've just processed properly after a quick attempt whilst we were out there. This was the morning it hit -39c and this Bison was coved in frost and didn't look like it had moved all night. The light was really nice, there was frost on everything and there was some lovely steam in the distance adding some atmosphere to the distant trees. So, after taking a couple of tighter portraits, I thought I'd go for a pano to include some environment as I thought it worked well, and going back to the car for the 70-200 was far too much hard work lol

5 shots stitched using Nikon D3s & 600mm. Original is 11,000 x 4400 wide so the detail is lost here as you can image, even on the larger 1200 pixel size! The Bison looks fantastic at full res though! You can even see heat shimmer coming off the bisons back.

Hi Richard,

Looks very nice and impressed you have done a panoramic image to include the wider landscape - would be nice to see a crop of the bison detail also. The upper left corner middle looks a little blue - guessing this is in shadow area although look better in the bigger file. Overall its very good and is big enough to be a medium format file.

Great shot, don't envy you being out in that cold though! Just watched a six episode series on Yellowstone and I think you have captured the winter there for the Bison very well! Cheers

I have got to get to Yellowstone in the winter...or the spring...or the summer...

Nice stitch job Richard, I am surprised your batteries lasted long enough.
