Strutting tom turkey (new larger repost in comments)
by Carolyn Derstine
I don't have many avian pictures but this one I took awhile back with my point and shoot camera. With some fixing in Elements I thought this turkey make quite a striking statement. I guess that's the purpose--to impress the ladies! We have a flock of over 30 wild turkeys that cruise our neighborhood during the winter looking for droppings from bird feeders. They can be quite entertaining to watch out our kitchen window.
Camera: Kodak C875 zoom at 20mm. F/3.6 at 1/400 sec. ISO 64

Your Turkey is quite handsome against the snow.
And there's for sure, nothing wrong with shooting with a P&S. I do it frequently. I too wish you had posted a larger image. Here at NPN, the image can be 720 pixels on it's longest size and up to 300 Kb in size. That helps us when critiquing images.
Cheers,
Carol

Great job to get the larger version posted, and this really is a beautiful image.
