Common (frosted) Buzzard
by Luca Mussato
At the end they came back!. In my neighborhood they were absent for ages thanks to a huge industrialization and the massive use of pesticides. But now the scenario has changed: industries were closed and also the use of pesticides is drastically decreased in favor of a more biological farming behavior. This pal is one of a family of four, and knowing a bit their habits it's a fantastic news. Buzzard are resident and monogamous and this means that they will stay here for long.
Subject: Common Buzzard (Buteo buteo)

2 commentsOnly thing that's a bit odd for me is the bokeh (hope I'm saying that right) in the background. I get that occasionally with one of my lenses (Canon 70-200 4.0L) when I use a teleextender. Not sure if that's the reason or not. A gaussian blur or something might smooth it out and make it look more natural.
I really like the comp, the look of the buzzard and the frosty scenery. I agree with Terry about the bokeh but sometime it happen, in particular when the background is like this and you cannot stopping down. I look forward to seeing more of these birds.
