Trio of Pine

by Michael Dreese

This image was captured during the recent Presidents Day storm here in the northeast. I was drawn to the shape, textures, and rich hues of this trio of Virginia Pines outlined against the delicate fresh snow.

Image Data: Nikon D70 with Sigma 18-200mm lens, f/8 @ 1/180 sec.

I like the rendition, but find the contrast between the spareness of the trunks and the business of the upper branches distracting.

I like the simple, uncluttered comp of the three trees against the stark BG. :toast:

I like the simple, clean feel to this Michael. Well done in my opinion.

Very nice image Michael. It has an oriental feel to it. The tones appear just right to me. I wouldn't change anything.

I like the subtle color against the monochrome background. I also really enjoy the slight differentiation between the snow with the background "sky".

Really like this image and how you have isolated these trees, and set the warm tones of the bark against the winter gray. Nicely done.

I think this is very nice Michael. Nicely composed and I like the slight diagonal line in back of the trees too. Ezposure looks dead on. Nicely done.

Michael, I enjoy the touch of colors against the white! A delicate composition.

Michael, I like the comp and think it's very effective. I am curious about the lack of color in the bottom part of each tree, while the top trunks and branches are a rich brownish-red? I can't tell if that's a blending mishap or if there's something growing on the upper part of the trees?
