Ingrid ...beautiful image and I love the setting you have got the subject in....Im a person who loves to have a lot of space around the subject, and lets see what the others have to say on this. Also ..did you make a horizontal image ....well done ..

Your exposure is good and the habitat is interesting. I think I would experiment with some cropping away some of the featureless sky, perhaps almost to the tops of the out of focus tall background plants.

Nice job at isolating and exposing for the Red Deer. Great setting, unique. I'll echo the previous compositional suggestions as options.

Good job of getting the deer in focus with detail in that tall grass. I also would tend to crop just above the reeds to draw the attention away from that bright sky but an excellent image overall, well done.

I like the sidelight, the pose, and the compositional choice Ingrid. I too would offer the previously mentioned suggestions for crop. Very nicely captured.

Great to see some Dutch wildlife here Ingrid! I like this as is, including the sky above, but perhaps toning it down just a little will help. The layering with the FG grasses, the subject (in a perfect pose!), the BG grasses and the sky above are what make this a strong image.
