Storm Front Rolling In!

I lived on Perdido Key, Fl (near Pensacola)on the Gulf of Mexico for over half of my "unmarried" lifetime.

We saw these fairly often....and we could barely get our sailboats out of the water before it hit!!! They were usually pretty violent with lots of lightning..and came in very fast! Not good to have a mast (lightening rod) out in the Gulf!!! It was very scary to be sailing under clear blue skies and have one of these devils show up!

Photo not as smooth as I'd like, and the Beach is badly OOF...but, heck, it came out of a scrapbook over 30 years old. I had to smooth out the crosshatch lines created from the scrapbook!

Although this is an old 35mm photo, the colors are spot on. The blues really were those weird shades!

Taken with my Minolta 101 in the early 1970's

It has the feel of a fast approaching storm, but to me the entire image looks soft.Because of the softness I had a hard time telling what the image was about.

Scary storm front. Based on the blurred water highlights, I'd say you were on a bouncing boat when the picture was taken.

I have a feeling that people who are used to seeing these would find this scene instantly recognizable. Your narrative is useful in making it clearer what's going on here. My first thought was "abstract" and the almost brush-stroke texture to the image.

As Stan said..."Oy Veh" !

Well it did look cool in my scrapbook, and I suspect I subconsciously "ignored" all the problems with this, because it was so cool "in person"! Chalk it up to teenage memories with her first 35mm :frown:

Moderator...I am sufficiently humbled. When Stan questions its value in the weekly challenge.....you KNOW it's a throwaway Please remove this photo. 89 people have already looked at it! I don't want them to remember me as a bad photographer! !   :wavey:
