Coastal sunset

This picture was taken on the coast of New Jersey. It was taken with only an 8mp point & shoot camera but several cameras later it still continues to be a favorite photo of mine. The sand textures and lay of the sand with the sunset made for some incredible picture taking that evening. I haven't come across any similar sand textures and lighting on the beach when we were there since then, unfortunately.

Kodak P&S. 8mm for F/2.8 at 1/250 sec. ISO 64.

Carolyn, this is a lovely image. There's no need to apologize for the camera. When I've done photo workshops, the first thing I tell folks is that all equipment does is increase the range of things that you can photograph well. It's the brain behind the camera and knowledge of the equipment that makes great images.

It's the photographer, not the camera, that makes the picture, Carolyn. This is quite nice. I really like the blue/gold contrast and wonderful shapes.

I liked this image a lot. It caught my eye from the index page, just by looking at the thumbnail.
Even with a simple P&S you caught an excellent closed composition. The waves of sands mixed with puddles of water and the sidelighting are just perfect. :toast:
