Shades of Ice

Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado.

I think I have overstayed my welcome with all the ice abstracts, so this will be the last I will post. I recently got an 30 x 30 of the first ice shot I posted and it looks amazing...I should have got it printed larger. Oh, well. While not as visually stimulating as that image, I do like this one quite a bit for some reason. Maybe it's the different shades of blue or the gradation from dark to light.

Canon 5Dmk2, 90mm TS-E, two shot stitch.

I agree, a wonderful series of these, Jimmy. They all have looked great to me, including this one. Yes, I bet that first one you posted looks great in the large print. Would be nice to see it.

Simplicity, geometrical impact is great. Texture of ice comes very effectively too. Transition of brightness from light to dark is quite interesting.

The whole series has been great and this is no exception. Creating balanced compositions from a riot of lines and color gradations is no small task and you make it look easy. :toast:

This has been a great series, Jimmy. I like this one for it's colors and it's connection, though I miss the bubbles.

Another nice ice abstract Jimmy. Have I mentioned that I've enjoyed the series? This one is very nice, but I agree with Tony that it needs some bubbles!

Yeah, this is nice with the natural fade from light to dark. I would agree that some bubbles would be an added bonus, but I think I see a lot of small details that would make this a great print.

Jimmy, I find your ice abstracts quite intriguing...don't stop now! I like the linear nature of this one. It reminds of a blue crystal with inclusions. Nicely done!

Jimmy,

Of course I'd have to compare prints, but from a web perspective I think I prefer this one - without the white blobs. Great abstracts all them, but this one is simpler and perhaps more striking. Great color too.
