Nice habitat image and the colors a very nice. If it were mine I might be tempted to take a little more off the bottom for composition.

Nice color, good detail in this habitat shot. Thanks for sharing.

The two most important things in this shot imo are the reflection and the fact that there is a second gator peeking up behind the first one. I can see you tried to keep the whole animal in and not crop the tail, but as a result there is a lot of vegetation, which unfortunately is very green and bright. In other words: first I see green vegetation, then I see gators. This is not necessarily a problem, but if this were mine, I'd probably try different (i.e. tighter) crops to see lose some of those greens and focus more on the subjects. It's funny, because I often think that people should include more of the habitat. Black and white might also work - simply get rid of that distracting color. Hope that makes sense.

Lovely scene Barbara and that second gator popping its head out above the other is priceless! The only thing that distracts me is that bright green reed right in front of the gator, a real pity. I would definitely try to (selectively) reduce both the brightness and the saturation of that vegetation.

Hi Barbara,

Wonderful subjects and I love the reflections in the water :^) I do also agree with Marsel's comments, that the vegetation, particularly the strands directly in front of the primary subject, is an unfortunate distraction.

Kind regards,

Ashley

I like the detail on the gators when viewing the larger version. It is too bad about that blade of grass sticking up right in front of the gators and I also think a tighter crop would bring you right into the gators and not the rest of the scene, good job in getting this.

Barbara, I think this works well. The larger version really shows both the gators and their habitat. The fresh greens tell me that it's early spring.
