Almost Spring

Spring isn't here yet so I had to go to the florist and get something to shoot. Following Bill's forum post to work a subject, I will try some other angles and backgrounds as well.

I thought the background would be more white and give a high key effect but I'm OK with it. I'll try something different later to get a pure white BG.

Comments and suggestions welcome

Steve: Looks pretty good to me. Not sure what you used for the BG but this works. Because the BG is nice and uniform it would be pretty easy to make a selection of it and make a fill layer of pure white or any other for that matter. I do like this comp and the capture of the flower. Excellent start to your series and looking forward to more. >=))>

Nice image here. I really like the colors and personally think the BG works well. Think you need bright, pure white as a BG for HK unless you are going to do it in processing. Not sure I am a fan of all the negative space in this one. I might be tempted to crop some off the left and at least take this to a 4x5.

Very nice, Steve ! I like the way you've given this so much room - the flower certainly seems to me to carry it well. Lovely, pastel shades.

Nice BG Steve! It complements the flower nicely, and upon inspection seems to have a little bit of texture to it. Beautifully done!

Steve, I am actually a fan of the bg NOT being white! I think it makes this much softer and more appealing to me (although the black border is heavy).

I think the BG is a perfect compliment to the gerbera bloom. I like it. A nice simple image of a "bloom in hopeful waiting".

I'm kinda on the fence about all that negative space, but a fine shot none the less. Nice soft colors and I like the BG color as is. :toast:
