Tiny aphid in the grasp of a small crab spider.
The flower is a common Texas ground-cover wildflower, about 1/2" across.
Sorry, the shooting data's buried..

Nice detail, especially given these spiders are tiny.
Like the perspective too.

Excellent shot. The detail (and dof) is perfect. I've seen crab spiders "hiding" in flowers, but never in the act of eating.

To those of us who garden, any shot of an aphid being devoured is the finest of fine art. I like the point of veiw and the bg. Thanks for sharing. (put a smile on my face)

Nice capture Howard. Flash? Given the black BG and shadow on the spider, I'm guessing yes, but it could always be strong sunlight and a shadow on the ground.

Wow! What a dynamic image. There's so much going on here. The very simple, analogous color scheme works perfectly here - accenting the camouflage of the bugs, and also serving to simplify the image. Very beautifully done!

Howard,
very interesting moment you captured here ..... at least for the spider.
Beautiful composition with excellent detail and background that makes pop out the flower with the two subjects. Very well done.
