AM Bird GH Laying

American Bird Grasshopper laying eggs. Sanibel Island, FL Flat lighting. She was busy doing her thing and let me get relatively close. I think I was getting more attention from the beachgoers wondering what I was slowly crawling up on than from her. I've left the two OOF bits in the BG trying to avoid any cloning. Would appreciate thoughts on whether they are just so bothersome that I need to do it.

The softness of the spots in the background make them a minimal annoyance - I don't think they distract from the image. The sharpness of this beautiful creature is awesome! I especially love the incredible color tones. The specks in the sand, the little hairs on his legs, the patterns on his wings... this is really beautiful. Perfect exposure. Beautiful composition. I love it!

I'd take out the two out of focus blobs in the top of the frame. If they were an important part of the composition, it isn't obvious. They look like "mistakes" or (more likely) unavoidable framed, but not desired elements. This is a great shot. I'm just responding to your question.

Very good detail/DOF Rick, great behavioral image & comp/POV.
Nice exposure & natural color also..
I would clone out the 2 spots if it was mine.
Well done :toast:

Wonderful image Rick, Nice details and composition. If it were me, I would have removed the two dark spots although they don't really distract that much. Nicely done.

Great image with lots of clarity and detail. I probably would have cloned out the spots but they are out of focus enough they don't really distract. Great capture!
