Smoky Mountain Fall

Being a Florida boy, seeing fall colors, especially in warm evening light, really grabs me. This is a rare shot for me, though may be ho-hum to the mountain-dwelling audience???

Canon 30D, iso 100, 1/10 sec at f/22.

Comments and critique welcome.

Nice light that you captured here David, and all the more special for you to enrich your memories from your experience. Lovely fall colors too. Being from Texas, we don't get much of that here either. I think overall the image is very effective and evokes a warm, peaceful mood. I can hear the wind through the leaves even now. This is the kind of evening I could see myself just sitting and watching until all the light had gone (and even after).

Man, who am I kidding, I would be snapping away just like you

Not bad for a flatlander, David.
You have the trees and brush lit up nicely. I like the layers of color and the cloud covered hills are a plus. The crop works well. The foreground seems a bit soft for f22 but I think it works for this photo.

Definitely an interesting shot, David. Especially the layers in the distance are very nice. The foreground trees create a nice depth. Maybe the grass in the very front is a bit strong visually but nothing too distracting to be a real problem.

I like the layers of foliage and mountains and sky, David . . . and the warm colors. Sky has sort of an unusual combo of colors, though, they kind of work with this scene.
