Taken in the wilderness of Florida's Brooker Creek Nature Preserve this is a wild iris. It was getting towards noon high sun so I decided to use some fill flash to soften the shadows and harsh light.
Used drybrusheffect on flower for added texture
Canon 7D 60 mm 2.8 lens
ISO 400 F5.6 @1/50
580 EX II flash at -1 2/3

This is a nice presentation of wild iris. I like the composition and you did a good job managing the light, dof, and bringing out the colors. My only complaint is that similar blooms won't be available around here for a good three months

Lovely colors, nice handling of the light. It looks quite natural, and the pof with the dof make for an intriguing image.
