Rose
by Craig Strand
Even though spring has officially arrived, it did so here in the Pacific Northwest under the cover of cloudy skies and rain. I picked up this rose at the local florist to occupy my afternoon.

Thanks,
Carol

I wish that option was available to us landscape photographers!
I don't see the white lines either. Outstanding color and detail, and I love this against the dark BG. Gorgeous.
I think what your describing as "white lines" around the petal is a bit of halowing that occured during the stack processing. I overlooked the area but will correct it in my master file.
"Thanks" for pointing it out. Craig
Carol has a good eye and I'm pretty sure that's a Helicon artifiact. I can go for several images without them and start to think it's just technique but I don't think that's true. Some subjects seem to create artifacts more than others. I don't know what causes the algorithm to break down. Agaves seem to be worst about it than anything else I've shot. I've never done an agave w/o the artifacts showing up. Nice thing, is that they're usually easy to clone out.
Beautiful image.

Gorgeous portrait. Always like the lighting in your portrait - they look really nice and not artificial.
