Saw this display at the HK flower show last week. It was a challenge to photograph this as there was a throng of people moving around the display. The display was placed on a table with a white backing consequently creating a unsightly line at the interphase. I cloned out the interphase and selectively brighten the bg to simulate a high key look. Also simulated Velvia film effect using channel mixer. Levels and curve adjustment using TK luminosity mask and glow effect.

D90 50mm F8 1/40sec. Thanks of viewing and C&C appreciated.

Addendum:
I would like to thank Ms Lillian Chan who has graciously allowed my to photography her floral arrangement for personal use

All the work that you did at the site as well as in the post-processing
phase paid off, Gary. This is very unique. I like your choice of a high
key BG. Composing the image off center is an extra plus. Neat
texture under the plant base also.

Excellent POV and comp on this one Gary. Based on your description of the situation, you've done a masterful job in the post processing.

Great BG Gary. MY only nit is on the left corners there seems to be some green and yellow color casts. This is really a nice comp and image.

This is a beautiful arrangement. Your comp is excellent, as is your handling of the light. Good job on the post processing as well.

This must have been challanging to pull off, but you succeeded masterfully. Has a 3-d look to it.

Striking image Gary. I think you did a great jog in the post processing. I see a little green tint over on the viewers left side of the image. Although it may just be my Mac or me. Love the arrangement here. Reminds me a little of a mobil.

Thanks everyone for your comments.
David and Pat: I see the green/yellow cast on my work computer now. I did this late last night at home on my iMac and must have missed this area (and around the base of the vase) when I selectively applied the high key treatment. Will fix this in my archive copy.

Terrific photo. All of your processing effort really paid off. The high key approach works very well. I especially like the long twig with a few bud that reaches nearly to the ULC.

Beautiful picture, Gary- With those long, curved lines your composition works perfectly- Every element is on the right place- The white, clear BG produces an abstract atmosphere that is very pleasant on this image- My best congrats, Fabio

Well worth the effort, Gary ! Does full justice to the Japanese art form with its pleasing graphic quality and minimilalist background. I like the clarity of the overall presentation very much.
