Ten inches yesterday but the sun's out today. This little guy was hanging out with me on my morning walk while nothing else was moving. Comments welcome. Thanks for looking

Hi Nancy. Beautiful setting with the dry looking snow (can actually see individual snow flakes!) and long pine needles. The wide angle really lends a unique perspective not often seen in avian photography, the inclusion of a horizon adds depth I think. I do wish the little guy would have looked behind himself to have him peering into the frame rather than out of it. I know how hard it is to get these guys to settle for even an instant to snap a photo. If you had some time to work with him I wonder what a bit of flash would have allowed in terms of brightening up the image and adding more sparkle to the snow. Nice find on your morning amble.

Very nice Mountain Chickadee, Nancy. Very good detail in the snowflakes. I find myself wishing for a slightly higher angle, so that the blob of OOF snow wasn't present.

What a tough little bird! I like your capture of chickadee in his surroundings. The subtle colors are pleasing. I agree that the large area of OOF snow is distracting, and I'd like to see a little more space above the bird's head. To me both of these problems would be addressed by cropping out the bottom section.
