Water shots always make for an interesting photographic journey because the results aren't what we see. Shutter speed and composition are very important and you managed them well. I'm not a fan of the darker URC and how the rock gets lost in there. For me it is an important anchor in the shot and I might try to emphasize it by brightening the wet reflections on it a bit.

For the sake of the community spirit you should post on other peoples images as well - a posting ration of 4:0 isn't the best.

Beautiful patterns. I tend to agree with Andreas about the darkness in the upper right but I think it can be overcome by slightly dodging the rock so it stands out more from the shadows.

I like the composition and the feel of the water in this image.

It's not easy to decide a composition like this without imagining the results of the water flows with a slow exposure. Here you got an excellent result, and the rock on the right totally completes the message. Wonderful image!

I agree with others that the rock is key... needs to be more prominant and visible.

Jaime,

I really like the texture in the water and the b&w presentation seems quite fitting for this intimate stream image. I would agree with others that the darkness in the URC combined with the darkness of the rock make it a little difficult to separate the rock from the background. Not sure what can be done with that other than some general dodging or even a general brightening of the scene. There is certainly some bandwidth in the whites to allow for an increase in exposure.

I'm a little uncertain of the composition. There is a tension with the rock so near the right edge. Now tension can and is often a good thing, so I would expect folks to have different reactions to the composition. It's just a little unsettled for me even though I really like the flow and texture of the stream.

thanks for posting. We look forward to more images and your participation in the forums and galleries. It may be helpful as well if you could include a little more information about your image and perhaps what kind of feedback you are looking for.
