Isn't spring wonderful? It finally quit raining for a few hours, long enough for me to get to this iris. All comments and suggestions sought.

Right in my face Bob and I like it a lot. I might darken the greens in the lower left and bottom but would need to see it to know. Beautiful work and a striking image.

Bob:
Beautiful and bold. Like the colors and textures you have captured. Still waiting for the irises to bloom in the park close to me.

Boy, those blues are sure vivid, Bob. I would possibly desaturate the greens, or maybe darken them so they don't detract from the flower.

Nice job.

Cheers,

Carol

Awesome shot. The only thing I would suggest is to darken the greens as others have stated. They're so bright that my eye is drawn to them and away from that gorgeous iris. :toast:

Bob: I love the bold colors of this variety and think you captured the essence of the flower very well. Nicely done.>=))>

The yellow runways for flying impollinators go round the whole composition, creating a diffuse color contrast. What do you think about darkening a bit? Anyway, I love this very natural image.
Take care.

The textures and array of shapes here are lovely, Bob, and the central droplet is the icing on the cake ! It may be my eyes but I wondered if the petal edges are a touch over sharp ? Anyway, nothing to spoil an eye-catching image.

Gorgeous shot! Love the pov and the comp. Can't wait for flowers to start blooming here.

Not a critique, but I'm curious: Are the petals really that blue? I only ask because I have a D80 too and find that purple flowers often come out more blue than expected. I have even been forced to adjust the WB to get a color that looks accurate to my eye.
