At My Feet

I went out one fall after noon to take some photos of my wife. On the way back, I noticed some beautiful leaves at my feet. All I had was my D300 and my new 24-120 Zoom. No tripod. I cranked the ISO up to 800 and turned on the VR and played around with a couple of comps.

I'm very pleased with how sharp it came out.

Crisp and Clean Dan.
I'll be honest and say I'm 50/50 on the upper green grass.
I might be partial to hacking off the top and right 1/3.
Just my 2 cents.

Nice composition with a good balance of colors. I'd be pleased with the sharpness, too. Nicely done

Beautiful, Dan. The details and color are superb. The lighting and crispness of the image gives this a real three dimensional look to it, almost as though one could pick a leaf right out of the image.

Dan, I'm really glad I clicked on this. I love the colors you captured, and I love how crisp this looks. Vance said just what I'm thinking, looks like you could reach right in and pick up these leaves. Very nice work! :toast:

Looks great. You nailed the sharpness and the color combinations are very calm and pleasing. I can say from experience how hard it can be to get a composition like this to be interesting and this one works very well. Excellent!

Very sharp, and I really like the light. I think if you had posted a larger version it would have looked as if the leaves and grass were right on my screen.

Outstanding image, Dan. I love how real the leaves look. Unlike the many overly done leafscapes, this one rings true and is therefore more beautiful in my opinion.

Dan,

Lovely little arrangement of leaves. The variety of subtle color is quite enjoyable. I really like this as presented. Good eye.
