I was in Mexico a few days ago and I had the chance to see these Yucatan Jays. The adult has a black bill and the juvenile has a yellow bill with a yellow orbital ring.

Great job catching them both (juvenile an adult at that) in the frame, and with good poses and in nice light! The over all scene, lighting and poses remind me of an old painting. Might be just a tad tight in the frame, but not much. Are they any easier to approach than the jays up here in N. America?

Excellent! Exquisite colors and fine detail. Catching 2 , let alone an adult and a juvie, and both in good poses - is just great.

This reminds me - like Gary - of an old painting with the colors a bit muted from age.

Beautiful birds. Nice to see the differences contained in one image. I do agree about letting the crop out a bit on the right hand side.

Excellent - well done getting the two birds with similar poses and with nice head turns and both in focus too.

A super shot Marc. Love the two birds and the sharpness on both. I also love the setting with the nice perch branch and the BG. Maybe just a bit more room in front and also a bit brighter overall. Small suggestions on a wonderful shot.

I like the eye contact you got from both the jays! Very interesting image showing the difference in age.

The colors are gorgeous. Great composition with the capture of the pair mirroring their poses. Just the right amount of blur in the background. Great image.

Excellent job on the dof in this one, Marc. They both look as crisp as anyone could wish for. Nice to get them together like that.
