OK, Who Stole My Car?!?!

Canon EOS 7D, EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM @ 123mm, Aperture Priority @ f/5.6 (1/50 sec), ISO 400, Handheld, JPG from RAW, Full Frame, Captive Subject

I have to admit this one always cracks me up ;^p

Once again I was hanging over the enclosure looking straight down, really can't recall what the Lemur was looking at, but catching it looking up showing it's bright yellow eyes was more than enough for me ;^)

This time I was using my 70-200mm, as I really wanted to get some shots showing all of the ringed-tail, and again I purposely chose to angle the shot so the tail would lead off at a diagonal toward the upper LH corner.

As for the “Who pinched my steering wheel?!?!” pose, well, that was a very welcome gesture from my furry little friend ;^)

Thoughts and suggestions are always appreciated, thanks for sharing if you can spare the time :^)

Kind regards,

Ashley

Certainly made me smile Ashley and that's a big positive in my book.
Looking directly down on your subject doesn't generally work but I love this image.Great detail, pose and those eyes.Even the rock has interest(I keep wanting to make some sort of lemur shape out of the rock pattern by the tail).
Nice one.

Thanks for the feedback Phil, and the thought of any of my images inducing people to smile has me beaming with pleasure :^)

Hope you're having a great weekend my friend :^)

Unique angle, Ashley, superb !!! Your zoo images actually don't give the feeling of the species being captive , Bravo ! :toast:

Thanks for your kind word and encouragement Kiran, much appreciated :^)

My main aim when photographing animals. and even birds. at our local zoo is omitting anything that appears to be manmade from the shot, which is not always easy when you have to deal with things like trees and other props made of concrete and the like; unfortunately our local zoo lacks the funds and creative minds of zoos in, say, America ;^.

Although I would never dream of presenting an image of a captive subject as caught in the wild, I do think there's something of an art to creating images of captive or semi-captive animals that free the viewer's immediate thoughts from anything but, "Wow! What an amazing picture!", and being that there's only a handful of opportunities I have to photograph wild animals, I'm aiming to make the very most of every visit :^)
