Hole in My Heart

Photography has been such an important part of my life for such a long time that it pains me when I can't engage in it. I have been so busy trying to keep everything afloat that I rarely get anytime to photograph for myself.

I started my second youth digital photography course for 2011 this past week and I had the rare moment when the students were self-absorbed in operating their cameras with their assignments that I was able to sneak this image in. I really hope things lighten up and people start appreciating photographs again enough to buy them and I can make more images and contribute and participate more often.

In the meantime, for your enjoyment and awaiting your feedback.

The textures and tonal range are very engaging Youssef. I love the graphical nature of this image.

I'm on the fence with this one, Youseff. I like the texture and the graphic nature, but the I find the knothole distracting; it draws my eye away from the interesting textures of the wood. The B&W treatment works.

Youssef, this one is not really working for me. I like the textures and composition, but I am finding the overall image a little too high tone for my tastes, too much bright white.
