Careful Observer

Hiking near at the Riverwood Conservancy near Toronto, I didn't have much luck photographing birds today. However, this common little chipmunk showed up and posed for me so well…….

All comments very welcome.

Lovely pose indeed Steve and an adorable subject. The image does look a bit dark and would benefit from some brightening up and perhaps the chipmunk a bit more than the environment. The composition would improve IMO by cropping a bit from the bottom and right.

Thank you very much for the comment, Vincent. I appreciate that it takes time to study an image like this and make suggestions. Here is a try at implementing yours. I rather like both the original and this one.....I do tend to like my images on the dark side I think...but I suspect that I'm in the minority..

The repost is a subtle, but significant improvement, in my opinion. I like how you exposed him against the soft but dark background.

A very nice chipmunk shot Steve. I like the pose and the darkness of the BG. I also prefer my images a little on the darker side but think the repost is a small but nice improvement.
