Pregnant Red Fox

The other morning I was delighted to come across this female red fox that was hunting beside the road. I watched her hunt for a while but when she pounced she always had her back towards me. But after a bit she turned and stood looking at me, giving me a chance for this shot.

Nikon D300s, 300 2.8 + 2 x tc, out the car window, f 7.1, 1/2500.FF

This is a beautiful photo May; great subject, good pose with that licking tongue, gorgeous light, excellent fur detail and well exposed. The branches on the right do not add much IMO, but are not distracting either.

Great timing on capturing this pose. Having the legs spread out like this, especially the position of the right foreleg, adds a bit of a sense of movement. The tongue is a nice touch too.

May i missed this when you posted it the Fox really stands out against the snow it really is a lovely image.
