Immature slow worms
Thought they looked like those wierd codes you have to put in when you join a site !
Found these in the garden today under a discarded rubber mud flap.
Amazing that these little fellas got through the winter ! Born last Autumn they are still only inches long
D200 Sigma 50 mm macro.
Fill flash 200 ISO f11
Cheers

From the thumbnail, I thought it was a pit of snakes. Interesting creatures. I like the monochomatic nature of this image.

Hi John, it looks as though the flash has caused a few specular highlights along the backs of the slow worms which does detract a little from the overall image, but interesting none-the-less. Is it possible to tone those highlights down a touch?

It does look like a phone number! I do agree with Robert about the highlights. Unfortunately they are difficult to avoid with this species.

Wonderful tonal shot with pleny of detail and to have these in your backyard must be super!
Like the first one better, the second one is way too light.
