My entry to the Weekly Challenge of "Name That Tune" ... can you name a popular tune that fits this image?

It is a beautiful spring here in the mountains of North Carolina; I think he is enjoying the springtime as well.

Sittin' on the dock of the bay? Good one to start us off with.

Yes, that's what I had in mind. That song just came to me when I was looking through my images. Gotta love that song. Can't wait to see the others.

"Dockside" huh? Well, anyway, she is sitting pretty. What's that on her bill? Looks like strawberry jam! It appears that someone with too much time on their hands carved that stump with a chainsaw. I like the color relationships in this shot. The framing is good too. I like the way the horizontal lines slant as well. By the way, there appears to be a question of gender here. This looks to me like a sub-adult bird. Adult males have that light bill even during eclipse while females have that darker two-tone look going. This has neither. Any duck experts out there?

Robert, I have no idea the gender of this duck so if anyone has any ideas that would be great. This is the first duck I have photographed but he/she just looked so peaceful that I couldn't resist. I'd welcome any suggestions as to the type, gender, etc.

She looks Mallardaceous to me. These guys can get really weird when they cross with domestic stock.

"(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay", co-written by Otis Redding & his guitarist, Steve Cropper. Having spent much of my life on a dock of the bay I always felt a connection to that song. I thought of it immediately when I saw this photo. The relaxed, casual look of the duck matches the tone of the song perfectly. Great choice, Barbara!

I love the patterns in those feathers, Barbara! She's beautiful, and she stands out nicely against the lighter background. Nicely done!
