It's courting time in alligator land. The males sidle up to females, sometimes blowing bubbles, rubbing backs, or each just draping over the other.

The dramatic light somehow emphasizes the danger. Good dof, placement in frame and interesting behavior.

Hi Wayne... I really like the darker part of the image to the right and how the gators are moving towards it from where they are lit. Must be amazing to see these guys in the wild. Nice image.

Great light n terrific frame ! I really enjoyed the dark details and the way their eyes are lit up.
Ideally, I would have loved to see some more frame on the left side.

Sweet solution to composing horizontal shapes: stack them! I like the play of light on the 'gators and water, plus the mystery of the darker portions of the frame.

the gators certainly pop from the dark water Wayne
I'm in 2 minds as to whether this needs a very slight CCW rotation as my eye is gauging the horizon level by the back of the front reptile.

Terrific lighting and placement. What did you offer to get them to sit right at the junction of the reflection and the darkness? The overall darkness really creates a sense of foreboding.

Always enjoy your close encounters with Alligators Wayne, thanks for sharing :^) The dark setting adds to the sinister feel of the image <shiver!> ;^)
