Another beauty. I prefer cypress in the fall, but spring is second best I guess. I love the thick and graceful spanish moss in this and the beautiful reflection in the milky water. You do these cypress shot like no one else - you are the master.

Hey Bill,,,,,,,fall is my favorite time of year in the swamps, too. It seems that every spring I had been concentrating on birds so this year I made an effort to shoot more swamp landscapes with the fresh greens. The transition from bare limbs to summer greens happens fast down here. Might make it up to Caddo this weekend to catch a little more spring up there.

Amazing! The amount of moss/lichen those trees carry is mind boggling. Wonderful as always!

Floris,,,,,Spanish moss is not a true moss or lichen. It's an epiphyte (in the bromeliad family) which absorbs nutrients and water from air and rainfall. This makes it very susceptible to air pollution. Areas with thick concentrations like this are getting more remote.

Just stunning!
I might clone out the little brown fuzzy thing at the water line to the left of the big tree (horizontally linear to the tree where it reaches the water). I think it distracts just a little from the scene.

Hi David,
I realli like the colors and how detailed the shot is. Accidentally while the photo was loading I realized I like it more without the water, the small bit of reflection take the attention away from where the nice details are.

That's superb. I love the feel of this, delicate, yet old and weathered. Super nice shot.

another utterly compelling shot from this area - you've made this your speciality and you excel at them.
a square crop from the bottom might also be interesting ...!!

The curtains of epiphyte cascade from the branches, enshrouding the trees in mystical wonder and beauty.
Good choice with the black background.
