Fog Dance

Had heavy fog this morning in the Everglades. Shot this image as the fog began to burn off, although enough was still present to reflect the yellow of the sun.

The yellow of the sun compliments the bird. I like the v-shape formed by the bird and the reflection. The detail in the right wing feathers is lovely.

Love the colors and action Wayne. The only thing I wish different was that the ring of ripples and bubbles were not there. Still a stirring image IMO.

Love it!
Hope that is not old fishing line wrapped around him.
I'd personally clean up as many of the water spots and blips as possible, as they draw my eye a lot.
Nice as is, though!
I don't mind the water circle at all.

Wayne: beautiful image. I wondered about the possibility of fishing line as well...hope it is something else that triggered that thought for Sandy and me. I guess this is not the ideal, or at least not "classic" angle, but the light and overall feel is wonderful. The lack of clear transition from water to sky/background is fabulous, and the reflection really strengthens the image for me. I don't mind the ripples either, but as they don't line up with any conceivable angle of takeoff it does make me wonder what caused them? A second bird, a surprised duck, a fish... :)

Thanks for sharing!

Great pose and reflection, Wayne, and the fog gives it some interesting lighting.

The ripples were made by garfish. They were everywhere, and the bubbles, too. And what may appear to be fishing line is the egret's plume. Then running from the knees down the legs is water.
I could easily remove the ripples, but it was all part of the scene so I left them.

Really like the dynamic and graceful looking take off posture, the reflection and water color Wayne. I don't think the gar ripples are ideal but they don't bother me much and if it were mine I'd leave them in as you have chosen to do. Nice shot.

Looks like a real "free spirit" image, Wayne. I'm fine with the ripples and bubbles. Beautiful comp. :toast:

Wonderful light and color, Wayne. I really like the way the horizon is lost. Good capture, too.

I really like the peachy tones in this Wayne, the lift off pose and the blurred reflection of the bird.

Nice launch, perfect timing and like the water running down the legs, if you hadn't used such a high shutter speed no one would have even seen it, all in all a perfect scene
