Raw file processed with PSE9 USING MASKS!!! (I just discovered how to do them today.)

I watched a Topaz Labs webinar today and masks weren't the focus, but the guy used masks and I saw how to do them, so I used masks in processing this. All feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Excellent image quality: good sharpness; nice exposure. Sufficient depth to the image. Light is pleasingly soft.

I'm glad you were able to do this with your existing gear.

Excellent image. The bee is very sharp, and there is a lot of interest here with the bee covered in pollen. My only suggestion would be to crop some off the top to reduce or even eliminate the dark empty area in the URC. This is a minor suggestion. I like it as posted as well. :toast:

Excellent capture. Exposure and comp work, though I might trim a very small amount on the left to pull it even more out of the center (a nit). I'd like more DOF, which you might have been able to get by shifting slightly to the left and getting more plane to the entire body while using the same aperture. The detail aroun dthe head is wonderful and the amount of pollen on this fellow is a true treat. Well done.

That's a lot of pollen! Very nice details in this one, Barbara. I like the angle, featuring the bee's head busy with the flower.
My only suggestion would be to process this a bit brighter, (perhaps with the highlights of the flowers closer to bright white) in order to show off the details of the bee just a bit more. A fine capture.

Congratulations on your new skills! Masks are wonderful - and can be used to do so much. This shot is just beautiful. Bright, clean whites, excellent detail, and a beautiful subject. I love it, Barbara.
