Here's a photo from last May that I thought I would search out for some opinions. It's a combo of the two things people hate most about summer but I thought they came together nicely for this image.

Taken early morning, Canon 7D with tripod, Canon 100mm macro, 1/640sec, f/2.8, ISO 100.

Large image included.

Thanks for looking and all C&C welcomed.

Wow, that's beautiful detail, especially for f/2.8. Even though the subjects may be annoying to most people, this image is beautiful. Unique ligthing provides both a silhouette and nicely-lit seeds.

John, I think this is a beautiful image, wonderful colors and light, with perfect sharpness and softness.

Nice! I love the color and light in the background, and the silhouetted mosquito. Wonderful depth of field. Very well done, John!

Verrryyy Nice! Love that mosquito. In a perfect world I'd try for more dof to better show off the dandelion, but this works great as it is. BTW, I eat dandelion blooms before they go to seed. They make very tasty fritters and the young greens are high in vitamin C.

John:
This is a wonderful image. Good plane of focus management. The light is just perfect to show the seed head and silhouette at the same time.

Awesome shot John! Your background is excellent as it highlights the mosquito and the soft white "hairs" of the dandelion. Well Done!
