Another fog image. I like when the sun shines through producing the softest of light.

I agree, Wayne, and you've done a nice job of taking advantage of the conditions. The foreground hummock not only adds a nice touch of color, but it provides nice separation between the fore- and backgrounds.

I like the foggy conditions and the sun breaking through as well here Wayne, they provide a nice contrast to each other. I also like the composition with the 2 egrets in the background. The image feels like it's leaning to the left a little bit and needs a bit of cw rotation, although I can't tell for sure that could be an illusion here. Beautiful shot :toast:

Nate, I see what you mean, but I tried a slight cw rotation and it seemed out of balance. The pond is round so there's no real reference point to work from except the mound itself.

Kind of a fairytale look to this one, Wayne. Such an interesting shot: one main character, three in a supporting role and a fog shrouded bg. :toast:

Great, moody image, Wayne, but it's definitely the light that makes it for me. A small pointer re reference points for making images level when you have a water reflection available....drop a line from the back of the neck on one of the egrets to the back of the neck on it's reflection (or eye or leg or whatever is clear) and that should be a line perpendicular to the horizon. Just rotate around that line and it will be straight.

Wayne,

Terrific fog shot of multiple birds. The Ibis in the lower left corner adds to the image IMO.

I love the artistic feel this image offers, I also really like the way you've managed to capture three different species and have them all in poses that adds further harmony to the picture as a whole. The reflections are great too. REal nice work Wayne :^)

Thanks for the tip, Keith. That method never occured to me. And according to the line this image needs a CW rotation of 1/2 degree.

Very nice mood to this image. I always look forward to shooting in the fog but we rarely get it here in AZ.

Wayne,
What a great capture. The composition is exceptional. The fog mixed with some muted light makes this one look like a painting. To me, this is a wall hanger. I absolutely love it!!! WOW. Agree with Nate on the rotation. If you level the right leading edge of the foreground mound with the left leading edge you will notice that it lines up perfectly with some light horizontal streaks just above the right egrets head. Both seem to be on the same plane and just a touch off. :toast: :toast:

Okay, just to set it straight(pun intended). Here's the image rotated 1/2 degree CW.

Love the mood of this Wayne, it is very serene. Love the fog & the light. I think your repost looks better for the rotation adjustment. I'd be happy to have taken this.

A wonderful image Wayne - the mood and lighting are stellar. One of the very few examples where OOF background birds add a lot to the shot for me.
